How the PLS DONATE Tax Works

PLS DONATE lets players set up a booth and sell game passes at whatever price they choose. When someone "donates", they are buying one of those passes — and Roblox charges its standard 30% Marketplace fee on that purchase, the same as it would on a pass in any other experience.

That means the split is always the same: the donor pays the full booth price, Roblox keeps 30%, and the receiver's balance grows by 70% rounded down to a whole Robux.

Tips for Booth Owners and Donors

✓ Price booths in multiples of 10. 25 R$ pays 17 R$ — an effective 32.0% cut — while 30 R$ pays exactly 30%.
✓ One big donation beats many small ones. The percentage is the same, but rounding losses repeat on every single pass sale.
✓ Tell donors the real number. If you need 1,000 R$, ask for 1,429 R$ — otherwise you land 700 R$ short of the goal.
✓ Donations arrive as earned Robux because they come from a pass sale, so they count towards the DevEx balance at $0.0038 per Robux. DevEx requests are still reviewed by Roblox, so keep your account in good standing.
✕ Never use "free Robux" or "tax bypass" sites. They cannot change a server-side fee, and they exist to steal accounts.

PLS DONATE itself takes nothing. The 30% cut is the standard Roblox Marketplace fee, charged because donation booths work through game passes. Donate 100 Robux and the receiver gets 70 Robux.

How much is the Robux tax in PLS DONATE?

30% of the booth pass price. It is deducted automatically when the pass is bought, so the receiver never sees the missing Robux arrive and there is nothing to pay back later.

If someone donates 1,000 Robux, how much do I get?

You receive 700 Robux. The other 300 Robux go to Roblox as the Marketplace fee. At the standard DevEx rate those 700 Robux are worth about $2.66 USD.

What price should I set my booth pass at?

Divide the amount you want to receive by 0.7 and round up. For 1,000 Robux in hand, set the pass to 1,429 Robux. Switch the calculator above to "Target amount → Pass price" to get the number instantly.

Is there any way to donate without the 30% tax?

Not through PLS DONATE. Every Robux transfer between players goes through a game pass and is charged the Marketplace fee. Group payouts are the only untaxed route, and they only work for Robux already earned inside a group you own.

Does the donor pay extra tax?

No. The donor pays exactly the price shown on the booth. The 30% is taken out of that amount before it reaches the receiver — it is not added on top.

Why did I receive an odd number of Robux?

Roblox rounds your 70% share down to a whole Robux. A 25 Robux donation pays 17 Robux rather than 17.5, so booth prices that are divisible by 10 always pay the cleanest.

Are "tax free" PLS DONATE sites real?

No. The Marketplace fee is applied by Roblox on its own servers, so no third-party site or script can remove it. Sites promising tax-free Robux are phishing for your account and can get you banned.
