How to Use the Robux Tax Calculator
1 Pick a direction
Start on Before tax → After tax if you already know the price. Switch to After tax → Before tax when you know what you want to be paid.
2 Enter the Robux
Type any amount or tap a quick button. The 70/30 bar updates instantly so you can see the fee, not just the final number.
3 Check the cash value
The panel below the split converts your net Robux to USD and EUR at the standard DevEx rate of $0.0038 per earned Robux.
What Is the Robux Tax?
The "Robux tax" is not a government tax — it is the Roblox Marketplace fee, a flat 30% commission Roblox charges on Robux that move from one user to another. Sell a 100 R$ game pass and 30 R$ go to Roblox while 70 R$ land in your balance.
Roblox standardised the fee in April 2020. Before that, the cut depended on your membership: Builders Club / Premium members kept 70% while everyone else kept as little as 10%. Today the 70% split is identical for every creator, which is why the maths on this page works for all accounts.
The fee funds the parts of Roblox that make a sale possible — payment processing, hosting, moderation, search and discovery, and the Developer Exchange programme that turns earned Robux into real currency. It is charged once, at the moment of sale, and it is deducted before the Robux ever appear in your balance, so there is nothing to pay later.

Roblox rounds your share down to a whole Robux, which is why a 5 R$ pass pays 3 R$ rather than 3.5 R$.

What the 30% Tax Applies To
Not every Robux transfer is charged the same way. This is the part most calculators leave out, and it changes how you should price different products.
| Sale type | Roblox keeps | You keep |
|---|---|---|
| Game pass | 30% | 70% |
| Developer product | 30% | 70% |
| Avatar item sold in the Marketplace | From 70% down to 30% | From 30% up to 70% |
| Avatar item sold inside an experience | 30% | 30% creator + 40% experience owner |
| Limited item resale | 30% | 50% reseller, 10% original creator, 10% seller/affiliate |
| Group payout of earned Robux | No extra fee | 100% |
| Buying Robux from Roblox | Not applicable | Full amount |
The calculator on this page models the flat 30% case, because that is what game passes, developer products and donation booths use. If you sell avatar items, treat 70% as a best case and check your item's price floor in the Creator Dashboard.

From Robux After Tax to Real Money
The 30% fee is only the first step. Earned Robux become real currency through the Developer Exchange (DevEx), and DevEx has its own rate and its own entry requirements. Our DevEx calculator covers that second step in full.
- Standard rate: $0.0038 per earned Robux — 100,000 Robux is $380.00.
- Legacy rate: Robux earned before 5 September 2025 still cash out at $0.0035 each.
- US 18+ rate: $0.0054 per Robux on eligible spend from US players aged 18 and over.
- Minimum balance: 30,000 earned Robux before you can submit a request.
- Eligibility: 13+, an active Roblox Premium subscription, a verified email, ID verification and a completed tax profile.
Stacking both steps is what surprises new creators. A 10,000 R$ sale leaves 7,000 R$ after the Marketplace fee, and those 7,000 earned Robux are worth about $26.60 — roughly €24.47 before your own local income tax.

Five Pricing Tips That Beat the Tax
- ✓ Price in multiples of 10. Any price divisible by 10 gives you a clean whole-number payout and loses nothing to rounding.
- ✓ Avoid tiny prices. A 5 R$ pass pays 3 R$, an effective 40% cut, because Roblox rounds your share down. Bundle small items instead.
- ✓ Work backwards from your goal. If you need 30,000 earned Robux for DevEx, that is 42,858 R$ of gross sales, not 30,000.
- ✓ Use group payouts for splits. Paying a co-developer from group funds moves earned Robux without a second 30% fee — selling them a pass would cost you again.
- ✓ Ignore "tax-free Robux" sites. The Marketplace fee is applied server-side by Roblox. Anything promising to remove it is a scam or a ban risk.
Robux Tax FAQ
How much tax does Roblox take?
Roblox takes 30% of every Marketplace sale. If you sell a game pass or developer product for 100 Robux, 30 Robux go to Roblox and 70 Robux are credited to your balance. The 30% Marketplace fee is the same for every creator, with or without Roblox Premium.
How much is 1,000 Robux after tax?
1,000 Robux after the 30% Roblox tax is 700 Robux. The remaining 300 Robux are the Marketplace fee. At the standard DevEx rate those 700 earned Robux are worth about $2.66 USD (roughly €2.45).
How do I calculate Robux before tax?
Divide the amount you want to receive by 0.7 and round up. To end up with 1,000 Robux you have to list the item at 1,429 Robux, because 1,429 × 0.7 = 1,000.3. Switch the calculator above to "After tax → Before tax" and it does the rounding for you.
Why does Roblox tax Robux?
The 30% Marketplace fee covers payment processing, hosting, moderation, discovery and the Developer Exchange programme that turns earned Robux into real money. It is the same kind of platform cut that app stores and other marketplaces charge, and it only applies to sales between users — not to Robux you buy for yourself.
Does the Robux tax apply to everything?
No. Game passes and developer products are charged a flat 30% fee. Avatar items follow a different split, and group payouts of already-earned Robux are not taxed a second time. Buying Robux from Roblox is not affected by the Marketplace fee at all.
Can I avoid the 30% Roblox tax?
There is no legitimate way to remove the Marketplace fee, and any site offering "tax-free Robux" is a scam. What you can do is plan around it: price passes so the 70% split lands on a round number, use group payouts to move earned Robux without a second fee, and remember that Roblox rounds your share down, so tiny prices lose slightly more than 30%.
How much is 10,000 Robux after tax?
10,000 Robux after tax is 7,000 Robux, with 3,000 Robux taken as the Marketplace fee. Those 7,000 earned Robux are worth roughly $26.60 USD through DevEx.
Is the Robux tax 30% or 40%?
For game passes and developer products it is 30%. The "40%" figure people quote usually comes from avatar items sold inside an experience, where the item creator receives 30%, the experience owner receives 40% and Roblox keeps 30%.
How much money is 30,000 Robux after tax?
30,000 Robux listed on the Marketplace leaves you 21,000 Robux after the fee. Once Robux are earned, DevEx values them at $0.0038 each, so 21,000 earned Robux is about $79.80 USD. Note that 30,000 earned Robux is the minimum balance you need before you can submit a DevEx request.
Does this Robux tax calculator work for PLS DONATE?
Yes — PLS DONATE booths use ordinary game passes, so the same 30% fee applies. For donation-specific tables and examples, use our dedicated PLS DONATE tax calculator.
